OCYM Objective -Study
Unfortunately, not everyone who sets out to be a Christian will be able to retain their faith in Jesus, for many will fall away in unbelief. Hebrews 10:38-39 tells us, "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him".
Many times we are led into serious errors in thought and belief when a Bible verse is quoted out of context and we fail to discern what it really means. This is due to our wrong belief that if a person quotes from the Bible, he must be right. But the words of the Bible hide as much as they reveal. In studying the Bible, it will greatly help us to understand scripture if we understand the context of a verse, not only what is spoken and written, but of whom and to whom, and at what time and in what circumstances, what happened before and what is to happen after. We need to meditate and study a lot with the right guidance to have a correct understanding of our faith. Like the Biblical example of the man who built his house on a rock, though it needs a little hard work, if our faith has a firm foundation, it will never be shaken. If we don't have this solid foundation, God cannot work in our lives and we can be easily led astray. This is why we are warned: "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. (II Corinthians 13:5).
In this section, we will post links to videos of classes by our theological leaders that are taken in meetings of the youth league. These will help us to develop a better understanding of our faith and of our church. We will also post links to interesting articles we find online that will be of general interest to us as practicing Christians.
